Vendor Information and Lineup

Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 1:00PM – 4:30 PM. 

Vendors should arrive at 11:30 to setup.

$25 for basic vendor space. 

$50 for premiered dog game host space. Materials and instructions provided. Promotional item giveaways encouraged.

Vendor fees are due on 10.18.2020.  Please remit payment via Paypal (mourningdove1982@gmail.com) or send check to Petz Pack, 132 Harbor Glen Dr. SW, Madison, AL 35756. If you sent via PayPal, please send friends or family and clearly indicate Business Name and ‘for Barks and Boo’s in the comments section.

Guarantee an audience! Winners receive raffle tickets and/or treats which can be acquired at the information booth. Vendor booths can host one of the designed pup friendly games: Pup Cake Walk, Treat Stacking Competition, Sit for Treats, Stay for Treats, Down for Treats, Expert Trick for Treats, the Cup Game, Ball Toss, Bobbing for Hot Dogs, Which Hand, Shake for Treats.  See game instructions below.

Dog Games

Don't Forget The at the Info Booth

COST: 1 ticket per try OR armband.
Winnings: Raffle Ticket or Treat/Promotional Item

Dog participants will have the opportunity to catch a tossed ball for prizes. The owner should toss the ball. If the dog catches one ball without it hitting the ground, he wins promotional item giveaway/treat. Ask the owner if they would like to purchase another try to win a raffle ticket, or simply try again if they have armband. If the dog can catch another ball (to make two in a row), he wins a raffle ticket.

Supplies

  • Tennis Balls (available at information booth)
  • Small promotional item giveaways (vendor provided, optional)

This game will require a helper to hold the dog as all dogs should always remain on leash . The helper holding the leash should give the dog slack to move and keep an eye on the surroundings for other dogs attempting to join the fun. We don’t need an altercation resulting from a dog attempting to resource guard the tennis ball

Ongoing game. Dogs ‘bob’ in shallow water for tiny bits of hot dog and a raffle ticket

  • 2 packages of hot dogs (available at information booth)
  • Bucket of water (available at information booth)

Tip: Give participants plenty of room when they are taking their turn. Some dogs may resource guard the hot dogs.

COST: 2 ticket per try OR armband.
Winnings: Raffle Ticket and pup cake

Scheduled game gives dog participants to win pupcakes. When the music starts, the dogs and owner walk in a circle until the music stops then they stay on the closest number. A number is drawn and the dog that is on that number wins.

Supplies:

  • Blocks with numbers (available at information booth)
  • 30+ pupcakes (vendor provided)
  • Raffle tickets (available at information booth)
  • Music to play (vendor provided)

COST: 2 ticket per try OR armband.

The treat the dog nosed out. Raffle ticket

Ongoing game where dogs get a chance to guess which cup the
treat is under. Let the dog see the treat, put under cup then mix them around
and have the owner bring him close enough to nose around and narrow down which
treat the cup is in.

Supplies:

  • Treats, the smellier the better (available at information booth)
  • 3 plastic solo cups (available at information booth)
  • Raffle tickets (available at information booth)

COST: Beginner Down: 1 ticket per try OR armband.

Dog participants will have the opportunity to show off their obedience skills by performing two different ‘downs’ which vary in complexity. Owners that can get their pup into a down position using a verbal command will win a small prize or treat. Owners that can get their pup into a down position using only hand signals will win a raffle ticket.

Dog participants will have the opportunity to show off their
unique tricks for raffle tickets. Can the pup dance, roll over, beg, pray,
speak or play dead? This game is for unique tricks only, so no sits, stays,
shakes or downs.

Ongoing game. Dog performs a shake with one paw for a treat or promotional goody. Dog performs a shake with right and left paw for a raffle ticket.

Owners that can get their pup into a sit position using a verbal command will win a small prize or treat. Owners that can get their pup into a sit position using only hand signals will win a raffle ticket.

Ongoing game. Dog performs a short stay (1 foot or less) for a treat or promotional item. Dog performs a long stay (3 ft or more) for a raffle ticket. For any successful stay, the owner should put their dog in a sit or down position and back away from the dog without the dog following the owner, until the owner steps back to the dog and/or releases him verbally.

Tip: Mark the ground with something for your short stay and for your long stay. For attempts at long stays, please stand by the dog while the owner backs away for the stay. We don’t need a dog getting away.

Winnings: Raffle Ticket

Ongoing game where 2+ participants get their dog in a sit/stay or down stay. The object is to get their dog to remain fixed in that sit/stay or down/stay while treats are stacked on the ground in front of the dog. Dogs that break the stay are ‘out’ and the last dog to break their stay wins. The treats should be returned and re-used. This is a scheduled game versus ongoing and can go every 15 to 30 minutes.

Tip: Suggest finding a way to announce your next start time so people know when to start gathering to play.

  • Multiple things to stack the treats on such as Frisbees (vendor provided)
  • Flat stackable treats (available at information booth)
  • Raffle tickets (available at information booth)

COST: 1 ticket per try OR armband.
Winnings: The small treat that was nosed out

Ongoing game. Dog participants guess which hand the treat is in.
