Either from mother nature or vandalism, fences can be damaged and dogs can be lost. To protect against vandalism, Petz Main highly encourages those with a prvacy fence secure their interior gate locks with padlocks.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Tornado Safetey Tips”]The safest place for a dog during a tornado is in a crate. Please consider acquiring enough crates to accommodate the maximum number of dogs you intend to have on any given booking or discuss your unique situation with Pet Main. If there is no time to crate, try to get your pack to the safest interior room, preferably free of windows. Stay on top of the weather at all times so that you can ensure all dogs are wearing their ID tags. Never attempt to evacuate dogs during a tornado[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Fire Safetey Tips”]Depending on the circumstances, waiting for the fire department to evacuate your pack may be acting too late. If you can safely do so, leash your pack to the backyard fence at the farthest point from the home. Be sure to provide the dogs enough separation that they cannot interact. If you have a privacy fence, installing eye hooks for the leash to attach could be useful. Also be sure to have a collection of leashes available outside so that you can get them the safely.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Plan for Power Outages”]Do not assume that in a natural disaster that you will have internet access or the ability to make a phone call. When creating your Emergency Preparedness plan, keep this in mind. Map screenshots, step by step directions, phone numbers, or anything that you need access to should be included. Also, print and store in multiple areas (car, go-bag, etc.).[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Tips for Leaving the Home”]We highly recommend purchasing a video monitoring system which allows you to monitor your pack periodically for when you are away. As part of our advertised service, we state that dogs are never left alone in the home for more than 4 hours. When you must leave, this monitoring system can prove highly useful.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Evacuating with Dogs”]This should always be a last resort. It is unlikely that hosts will have enough room in their vehicle to crate each dog and depending on the nature of your pack, this would be a great place for an altercation. However, if this is the only option for survival, please use your discretion and call Petz Pack after you’ve evacuated.[/vc_toggle][vc_separator]
